Ulun Danu Temple Bedugul Bali or Ulun Danu Bratan Temple
Bali or also known as Pura Ulun Danu Bratan
is a water temple Bali located on the edge of lake Bratan
Bedugul Bali
Indonesia, situated in the village of Candikuning, Baturiti sub-district, Tabanan regency Bali, The distance from Denpasar
city about 56 kilometers to the north along the highway Denpasar - Singaraja.
Ulun Danu
Beratan Temple is dedicated to the goddess of the lake is Ida Batari Dewi Ulun
Danu on the edge of a hude crater. The dominant shrines are Meru’s (pagodas)
dedicated to the lake goddess and the gods of Mount Batur and Mount Gunung
Agung, the largest volcano in Bali. The temple was built in the 17th
century in worship of the main Hindu trinity, Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva, as well as
the lake goddess, Dewi Danu. The sight and cool atmosphere of the Bali uplands
have made the lake and this temple a favourite sightseeing and recreational
spot as well as a frequently photographed site. Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is
consisted of 4 temples complex that are such as :
Lingga Petak Temple owns the function to worship the Siwa God Penataran Pucak
Mangu Temple is referred this gate as Parhyangan ripinggiring rawa Beratan or
Danu Beratan Temple is founded by I Gusti Agung Putu to worship the Hyang ing
Parwata or Deity which is placed in Pucak Mangu that is Bathara Hyang Danawa as
according to papyrus of Padma Bhuwana and Usana Bali, because Mangu Mount is
located in north direction, hence it is called the Bhatara Hyang Danawa or
Wisnu God Terate Bang Temple is functioning to worship of Brahma God, Dalem
Purwa Temple is functioning to worship of Danu Goddess which is considered to
be miraculous of the Bathara Hyang danawa or Laksmi goddess.
The
ticket entry to the water trmple cost is IDR 20.000 and for the foreigner
touris is U$ 2,6 per person. It’s the nice place for a walk and opportunity of
taking a nice shoots of this iconic temple. Unfortunately the visitors are not
allowed to enter the temples and get very near as there are fences around all
temple buildings. It’s one of these places that you just look at and take a
picture, without making any real connection with it but still worth a visit if
you are passing by.
Walking
around the Pura Ulun Danu Beratan Temple
complex was overall is very nice experience, park surrounding the water temple
is a very well maintained and pleasant to stroll through.
