KISKENDO CAVE
NIM : 130747Hi reader, I would like to review one of my favorite tourism destination called “Kiskendo Cave”. Kiskendo Cave is a natural cave natural cave in the mountains Monoreh located 1200 miles above the sea level. This cave is located in the village Kiskendo Jatimulyo, District Girimulya. It’s about 38 miles from the northwest of Yogyakarta or less than 21 miles from the town of Wates. This cave can be reach with a small cars or motorbike. If the tourist want to come with a big vechicles, they are advised to stop at the district Girimulyo, in order to change with the small car beacause of the narrow road. There is a beautiful landscape along the Kiskendo Cave. The entrance ticket for this place is only IDR 5.000/ person.
After through a long journey, the tourist will be
welcoming with the beautiful landscape of Kiskendo Cave itself such as stalagmites
clinging to the roof and mounting from the floor of the cave. This cave is not only
beautiful, but also has a well known legend about
the fight between Mahesasura, Lembusura and Jathasura against Sugriwa and
Subali. This story is depicted by relief made in front of the cave. In order to
promote the Cave, the government is make an event three times a year on April, August
and November. The event is a Ballet called Sugriwa-Subali. It was great
performance and a lot of torist come to watch that performance.
The
good things about this place is the beauty cover with the legend and mystery,
and also there are a lot of spaces that can be improve in Kiskendo Cave itself,
such as for camping based on nature, cave tour, etc. The other things that can
be improve is the number of tour guide in order to accompany the guest to do
“Cave Tour” and explaing the tourist about the story behind the cave so we can
understand more and deeper, not only in the surfaces only. But overall, I
highly recommend this tourism destination to the reader. Happy touring and
exploring
